Years: Multiple (starting ~2011)
Haiti was one of the earliest destinations where Watercarrier’s hands and hearts were deeply invested. Following the devastating earthquake and ongoing challenges in the country, our teams stepped into communities where homes were broken, schools were crumbling, and families were in need of shelter, safety, and a future.
In Port-au-Prince, we partnered with Christian Light School – an institution that continues to shine as a beacon of education and hope for children in the region. Over multiple trips, our volunteers worked to renovate classrooms, repair buildings, and restore learning environments, ensuring that students could return to a place of growth and belonging.
But the mission didn’t stop with schools. Watercarrier teams also helped rebuild homes – laying bricks, fixing roofs, and offering encouragement and prayer to families navigating everyday hardship. Each visit to Haiti reinforced our belief in long-term commitment and presence.
This is a place that continues to shape us. And as the needs evolve, so does our calling to stand with the people of Haiti in faith, action, and love.
